Star named Multi-Academy Trust of the Year
Star Academies has been crowned Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) of the Year at the National Schools Awards. The inaugural awards ceremony, which took place at The Schools & Academies Show, celebrated the best and brightest education practitioners from across the UK.
We were awarded the accolade in recognition of our continued growth and outstanding performance after achieving a number of landmarks over the last 12 months. The past year has not only seen Star Academies grow to 28 schools but also achieve a number of high-profile accolades, including:
- 1st place in the Department for Education’s national MAT performance tables
- Top 3 secondary schools with the highest Progress 8 scores nationally, and a further two schools in the top 15
- 1st placed school in England for pupil attendance with 10 schools in the top 1%
- Five further schools achieving an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating
- Establishing three new free schools and welcoming one new academy into the Star family
- Opening three new state-of-the-art school campuses.
Our award was one of just six that were presented to recognise the outstanding contribution and successes of individual school leaders, schools and multi-academy trusts.
